Since Daddy is on holiday until 4 January, we're going to mall almost everyday and most of the time when we're having lunch or dinner at restaurant my little boy also curious about our meal and even tough he's already have his own he'll still ask for ours, so either I'll spare mine or order a light snack for him, he's very happy everytime we feeding him and also come to my surprise he'll suddenly master everything that we're ask him to do even some skill that I often teach him but he never able to do it!!

his appetite is great, for lunch and dinner I give him steam rice not a soft porridge anymore and my cooking become more variant since I try a new recipes almost everyday, but so far his favorite is misua,salmon soup with veggie and kwetiau! he's into soup so much, it easier to feed him if there's a soup inside.

Merry Christmas 2008

Christmas is not about a party and a new dress...it's about a pure heart in understanding moment when our savior, Jesus Christ is willing to come to this world and save us..

Weddings and Birthdays Party

It's been months of weddings and 1 year birthday party marathon for me start from last november until second week of this month, I've attend to 2 cousin wedding from hubby side, 1 cousin wedding from my side, 3 friends wedding and 5 birthday party (6, include of bryan's birthday party)!! 2 of that birthday party even in one day!! so,I've been busy attending to all that parties on saturday-sunday while in weekday I also help around for my cousin wedding.

and after all that parties end, my relatives from singapore also visit us for 2 weeks and just come back last sunday.. in the end.. now i've caught runny nose, coughing and nose block... *sigh* It's very FUN and very TIRING! just when I thought I can get my beauty sleep.. Bryan's decided to wake up in the middle of the night for 3 days in row and refuse to sleep again for 2-3 hours!! so, he's wake up around 1am until 3am-4am and sleep again until his normal wake up time which is around 7am and during that awake time his eyes is wide open and fully charged! so, sicked mommy also can't sleep! HUAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....

sleepy and tired mommy hopes that it just part of growing up that will end soon TONIGHT!!

crawling

I know it's bit late since most of babies can master it less that one year old but I'm happy to annouce that Bryan's finally standing up by himself in his crib using his own knee 2 days ago (I used to help him stand up) yesterday, he's officially crawling using his knee and today he can sit by himself from lying position.

Jaya and I are guessing how long it gonna takes for Bryan from this step to walking but we're so happy that he's finally did it, well done son!!

On your first birthday..

Dear Bryan...

It's been a year since I first held you in my arms, within a year I witness so many of your first milestones, your first cry,your first smile,your first laugh,your first sound,first time you called us "papa" "mama" in one day, first time you hold up your head and flip over,your first time jabs,your first solid time, your first time overseas vacation, and others first of everything that i could not mention here one by one cause it'll take lots of space.

Mommy must said that it's been not very easy year for both of us.. as first time mother, mommy must learn everything from scratch.. listening and understanding you whether you need milk or comfort, try the best to give you only my breast milk for 6 months, which mommy failed cause your daddy must hospitalized cause of dengue and mommy must stay over to watch him when you're 5 months old, there's also been days when daddy must go to work feeling bit sleepy cause you keep waking everynights and refuse to go sleep again and other lots of struggle, tears and countless of uneasy day, but they are nothing compared to what you brought to our lives.

few years from now, you'll no longer dependent to us.. and mommy maybe not the one anymore, the one that you'll always looking for comfort and secure like now days, but deep inside our hearts.. you'll always be our baby and you can always looking for mommy for anythings cause I'm your mother, the one who'll always love you unconditionally, but before that time comes.. mommy and daddy are looking forward to enjoy countless beautiful years with you, to witness and to guide you become a great gentleman. let's grow up together son, you'll help us to become better parent everyday tough we're can never be perfect, but we'll always keep our best.

some people maybe can comment about your flaws but no matter what happen you're still our son, the one that mommy carried along for 9 months and 18 hours struggle between life and death to pop you out to this world,
we'll always love you son...and feel very blessed to have you in our life since you are the one who makes mommy and daddy life become so complete and perfect.

Almost a year progress

Bryan's almost a year now in few days and he's making lot of progress in his motorik development .
he can waving with cute style like a lucky cat (it's often find in restaurant to bring more customer to come), he know where's his head when we ask it, clapping hand, make "mata genit", shake hand,do hi-5, his vocabulary also increase he can say "mamam" referring for eat, "mama" with a spoil sound when he needs my help, "apa" ("what") but i'm still not sure he's really understand what its mean but he's mumbling it lots, "mbak" for calling his nanny, "yeye" reffering to my father in law, he's also can point his hand in oder to want something.

He also can cruise in his box or table, he can step foward when we walk him on floor but his balance still not very good, in emotional behaviour he's often crying as a weapon if I don't give him what he wants but I'll ingore him until he's tired and stop crying, I don't want him to grown up become a spoil boy and for dicipline him, I often slap my hands, showing my "mad face" and said "NO" if he wants to do something that not allowed, so far he's understand it and don't try to repeat it.

he's sleep 2 times for nap, sometimes he can sleep 2 hours on each nap (nap time around 9.00-9.30 until lunch time 11.00-11.30 and 14.00 until 16.00) and his sleep time is about 19.00 until 06.30-07.00 in the morning, his take 160cc of milk and drink about 800-850cc/daily, he eat 3 times (cereal with banana in the morning, porridge twice for lunch and dinner)

eventhough he can cruise very well..he still can't crawling using his knee and because he can't using his knee, he also can't sit by him self from lying position and he's also still need my help to stand (he can stand by himself if there's a table or low cabinet so he can hold into it to up his body)

maybe now his development progress is a bit slow but I'm sure he'll amaze me in the next few months for his amazing progress.

Bryan's 1st birthday party

We're throwing an early birthday party for bryan's since his birthday is on Thursday, 4th and on 7th december, my cousin will be married and I'll be busy helping around so there's no time for bryan's party. the party is held on Saturday,22 November 2008 at Hawaii Vegetarian Restaurant,Muara Karang, why I choose Vegetarian restaurant? well, Jaya and I think its good for him to have a first birthday party without killing animal beside it's healtier and also have a good tatse too ;)

I've invited 80 people since the restaurant take a minimum order for 100 people, party decorations and goodie bag are made by bryan's kuku while I ordered thomas and friends birthday cake from dapurvita, the cake decoration is same with bryan's invitation, I've choose thomas and friends theme for his first birthday party.

Too bad Bryan's is already sleepy when it comes to a candle blowing so I didn't get a good picture of him blowing a candle.

11 Months

swap and meet die cast market

We're going to swap and meet collection cars market at Gelora Bung Karno,Senayan today, it's a swap and meet for daddy hobbies,he collect miniature cars since we're dating 11 years ago,so i've got familiar with this model cars collection, and bryan's soon will get infected too and join the club with his daddy and yeye hunting for a new collection, just like today..

it's a market for collector to sell or swap it held every first sunday and third sunday of the month, all the collection is show in their car baggage, so daddy is hunting for his tomica collection and bought few of them there, while bryan's enjoy the market and sit nicely in his stroller.

we don't go to mall since there's a boom issue related to death execution of the bali boomers within this week, so after having a nice dinner at korea restaurant in kelapa gading, we're going home ;)

Influenza

Bryan's caught his first time flue since few days ago, he's sneezing lots and his nose block, actually when he's down for fever, his doctor already said that he's show a symptom of influenza since his throat has infection and fever,so the doctor already gave me preventive medicine just in case that it turns out to be influenza.

luckly that his appetite still good, he's also sitll very active little boy,he's sleep well and longer for his recovery, no wailing or crying in the middle of the night even his nose block. :)

Finding the nanny

We're back from holiday last sunday and found out that our nanny is not coming back again to work with us, so I've decided to sleep over in my mom house for few days and it happens that searching for a new nanny it's not so easy like it looks like, I've called almost 50 governess and nanny agent since last monday and all of them said out of stock and told me to wait few days! gosh! I've decided not to hire a experience nanny since I'll only need her around to look after Bryan while I'm taking bath or cooking and doing the laundry and cleaning.

so..when i think I'll wait for next week for start looking again, one of agent call me, she said that there's stock for nanny but she's still don't have experience at all since she just came to Jakarta for 2 weeks and just finish 1 week first education as nanny, VIOLA! that's exactly what I'm looking for! the best part is.. her basic salary is also come in good price, half price from my former nanny! and they can drop her to my house so i don't need to pick her up in agent, if i think she's fulfill my criteria after interview, she can directly working and if i think she's can't, i just need to pay the transport fee!

and it appears that she's fulfill my first criteria, she want to help around with house cleaning (most experince nanny don't want to do houseworking and only want to take care baby), she don't have handphone (which is good otherwise she'll busy like bee just like my former one) and still very innocent since it's her first time to jakarta ;)

Recovery times

since bryan and I still in recovery, we're not going anywhere for few days meanwhile my sis in law also got infected with flue so we're all stay at home, resting and playing domino! well,bryan is grounded from going anywhere since he's got fever so sometimes while he's taking nap, jaya is look after him while I sneak out for craving food at tiong bahru market ;)

Bryan's usual stroller

I've bring bryan usual stroller but since it only have 1 position, it makes him hard to sleep in comfort way.. so mostly I should put him to sling when it comes to nap but apparently my ta-ku is lend me her maclaren stroller and her friend also lend another stroller too so, I have 3 stoller and 2 baby (oh, i forgot to mention that naomi,bryan 6 month older cousin also come along for holiday) so mostly naomi use the first stroller in picture but when we're planning travelling with taxi I'll bring my usual stroller since it's easier to fold,so when naomi isn't sleep bryan will take over the stroller to take nap while naomi is using bryan's but it only hapend few times and for the rest..i'm using mclaren stroller, bryan can easily sleep in this stroller and it make me easier since i dont have to hold him in sling ;)

so far, my holiday is great... bryan is being a good boy! it's really beyond my expectation, he's totally in good mood, no wailing or crying, I just put him on stroller and only hold him for a while in sling when he's bored, and when we're travel alone (just me and bryan) he seem to understand when i said "we're going now, but be a good boy, don't ask mommy to hold you, mommy hands kind of busy pushing stroller while you in my sling" and he'll go straight sleep and only wake up when we're almost home, even when he's down for fever, he still can laughing and smiling, he's only not sleep well and wake up few times but get back sleep easily on the night when his temperature reach 39.5 degree.

First time fever

I've got flue and cough last sunday, jaya is already down for cough since 2 days after we're arrived and apparently I've got infection too, the worst part.. bryan is got fever two days ago his temperature is 38.2 in the morning, I'm already give him tempra drop which i bring from jakarta but he still warm, so after 2 times give him tempra and no result of getting better, I try naomi medicine, her doctor gave it when she's having high fever and lucky that her mother bring it (bryan and naomi have same pediatrician) I hardly can't sleep since i'm too busy checking on his temprature every hour and also bryan woke up few times, feeling unwell.. so i must comfort him by tap his body and put his pacifier cause everytime it's felt down he'll awake and search for it,around 3.00 am his temprature up to 39.5 degree, I gave him medicine once more and thanks God, he's temprature back to normal in the morning. but it don't last...in the afternoon he's temperature raise again to 38.5 degree, so i've decided to bring him to doctor at tiong bahru children clinic below tiong bahru plaza.

Dr. Edmund koh, the pediatrician told me that bryan is having sore throat infection (maybe he's infected by me) and the temprature is 38.6 so, he's give bryan capsul in his buttock (yeah, that capsul go inside bryan's butt) he said that if bryan temprature is higher than 38.5 degree then i must give him again that capsul, so i told bryan to fight the infection since i don't want to give it anymore, he also give one antibiotic and few medicine just in case bryan have a nose block or flue. Thanks God, the medicine works very well on Bryan, soon after he's back from doctor his temprature is 37.4 degree and never up again. but, amazingly.. he's still in good mood, still can laugh and smile like nothing happend, he's still easy to take nap, still have a good appetite, still very active boy. Praise Lord for his amazing grace.

First time swimming

Bryan is 10 months old today and as his present,I took him swimming for the first time, there's a swimming pool down our apartment and my brother,Hendri is join us since Jaya still in recovery from his runny nose ;) my little boy is really loves water, he keep smiling,laughing to us and enjoy his time in water. basicly,he's really in a happy mode today and it makes mommy and daddy happy too.

10 Months

Smooth trip

It's been a quite long day for bryan since we're leaving home early in the morning around 8 am while our flight was at 13.00 pm, we've decided to leave early to avoid a traffic jam and a long queue for check in at airport, while we're waiting for our flight in executive lounge bryan is taking his nap in sling and wake up around 12 to have his lunch (I've prepared Heinz baby food for his lunch)

the flight is on time so after we're enter boarding room, we're straight away going inside and about 5 minutes later, the gate closing and we're ready to take off, i've prepared 6 baby bites and 3 cheddar smoked cheese for bryan in hope he's busy eat and didn't notice the take off, well.. it's quite work out, he's eat and come to surprise he's quite enjoying sound of airplane when it's prepared to take off, he's stunned for a moment and making serious face to listen then he's looking at me and smile..a happy smile!! wow! sort after that he's taking his nap and wake up 10 minutes before we're landing, landing also great, he's seem happy and look over the window when we're arrived. so.. i just hope return flight also this smooth ;)

after we're reach apartment at tiong bahru, nai-nai (my mom-in law has arrived there a day before us) already prepare warm porridge for bryan and his ta-ku (my eldest sis-in law who live in spore and never met bryan before) busy playing and feeding him, so I can relax for a while to take shower and prepare bryan things, sleeping time is also smooth! bryan's sleep around 8.00 pm (7.00pm jakarta time) and only wake 1 time around midnight to have milk and go straight sleep again,he's very tired,i can tell since he's heavily breath with his mouth open wide, so after he's sleeping, jaya is look for him while I went to tiong bahru plaza which is only across from our apartment to have some dinner.

not bad for first day..but, we're still have 2 weeks more here ;)

Baby of the month

I was enter Bryan photo for fun to morinaga platinum website about a month ago, he was drink BMT Platinum formula cause the hospital where I was given birth use that brand. and it happened that he become baby of the month in august 2008, I was so surprise, never think that he'll win it. this photo was taken when he's ready to sleep at first night without his electric cradle and it was taken with my handphone camera, you can read my previous posting here.

Holiday wishes

Week a way from our first holiday, exciting and worry.. mommy haven't pack anything yet unless 2 can of Bryan usual milk and 1 pack GOON pampers (I've decided to bring 1 pack only (44 pcs) since pampers price in there is too expensive and they don't sell GOON brand unless I buy it online) I've also prepare some medicine for fever, flu-cough and diare (but I'm HOPING he's FINE during this holiday), Bryan never had serious illness since newborn, during his 9 months he never caught flue-coughing and diare, etc just bit warm when he's got his DPT immunization when he was 4 months old!

I wish Bryan stay quite or sleeping during our flight since it was a full flight and I can't imagine if he's crying out loud for whole trip!! I wish we can get seat in front so there will be more space for me to stand up and hold him in case he's wailing which mean we must arrive at airport early to get best seat (I've check online check in but they don't open in front seat)

I wish Bryan can adjust sleeping in a new place, in this past weeks putting Bryan to sleep and nap is easy, he can easily sleeping using sarong sling or with his stroller, and I'm really hope this will continue during our holiday. he's wake up around 5.30 am, nap at 9.00 am, 1.00 pm, 4.00 pm and bed time around 7.00 pm.

I wish for a good weather so I can take Bryan around without worry about raining (but, I've heard the weather is not too good now) oh.. don't FORGET to bring small UMBRELLA!! I've planning to meet some of my friends there, so I'm really hope that Bryan in his best mood during this holiday.

And the most important thing is I wish that I'm stay healthy during this holiday so I can take care Bryan, but I believe that He'll guide and provide the best thing for Bryan and me so I shall not worry too much. ;)

Standing up

Now Bryan legs are strong enough to support his body eventhough he's still not able to pull him self up, he's very curious about standing up now, usually he can sit nicely and sleep in car but now he's very active, can't sit nicely for a minute!always wailing until we stand him up,I just hope that he can sit nicely without wailing or crying when we're in airplane!!

Playing with daddy

Bryan love his daddy so much, everytime when his daddy back from office, he'll keep wailing or insist us to follow his daddy around until he can hold by him, when he's in his baby walker he can follow his daddy around,everytime daddy move he'll move too,grab his daddy boxer,and ask him to hold.sometimes he's already sleepy when daddy arrived at home, but will suddenly fully recharge when he see him, they'll play around about half hour until he's doze off.

Bye-bye Aqiu Hendri

My second brother, Hendri (I have 3 yonger brothers) is leaving Jakarta today, he's got a job offer at singapore, so my parents will be alone at home since my other brother is working at solo and the youngest one is still at bandung for college."bye-bye Aqiu Hendri, see you soon at singapore in few weeks, we'll eat hill st noodle and go swiming! ;)"

9 Months

• still can't crawling but love to move forward to grab things
• can sit very well but still can't sit by himself from lying position

I don't wear cap

Bryan caps collection now become useless! when i was pregnant with Bryan, I've bought few caps for him, some of them is for 12-24 months old and then my friends also bought him caps as present (some of them is very cute!) he doesn't like to wear caps since he was a newborn, he's keep crying if i put cap in his head and only stop when i open it,basiclly he don't like anything that put in his head and now since he's been able to get rid of it, i think I'll put all his caps collection in box!

Machine riding

I'm bring Bryan to timezone for some machine riding for the first time and he's really enjoy to riding it, he even don't want to get out from that machine and keep wailing if it stop or try to get him out ,so he's riding it 8 times!! my friend said to wait until he can ask for what he wants, he'll keep ask me to bring him to timezone almost everyday like what her son do now.

he's very curious about how it can make such a noise and get him upside down and i can't get a better picture since mostly his mouth is open when he's riding it ;)

Auntie Jesicca Visit

My youngest brother, Edwin and her girlfriend, Jesicca is on holiday to Jakarta (they both went into college in Bandung), but Jesicca lives in Bandung, the last time when she saw bryan was 3 months ago, bryan still can't recognize people or pick certain people to hold him, but come to surprise my little precious is want to be hold with her in first try!when she's trying to transfer bryan to me, this little precious still wanted to be hold with jesicca! he's even smile, laughing and blink-blink his eyes with her! wow! daddy said that bryan is so "genit", knowing that there's a pretty girl held him and tried to attract her attention! too bad that bryan's face in picture was so serious since the camera blitz is very bright ;)

Passport

Bryan is took a photo shoot for his first passport at immigration, he's been behave very well, no crying or wailing even there's a lot of people stare at him when he's doing his photo shoot, and his photo result for passport is so cute!! ;)

Liezaa farewell

My best friend, liezaa will go to beijing for a year to study mandarin in couple days so we went out for dinner at secret recipe in kelapa gading mall along with our other best friend,echie and liezaa cousin, ling-ling. I'll miss her so much but also happy for her since it's been her long dream. wish you all the best there,sis! *hugz*

Asparagus mushroom soup

Since I don't have anything to do today, I'm trying to make an asparagus and mushroom soup to full fill my appetite, it was my first experiment on making this soup and it's turn out very yummy! not bad for beginner ;) here's the recipe :

Prepare :
-Half chicken (but u can add chicken bones to make soup more tasty)
-Asparagus
-Shiitake mushroom (hioko)
-wood ear mushroom (jamur kuping)
-carrot (cut into thin layer)
-white eggs (separated the yellow)
-wheat flour
-black soy sauce
-pepper
-salt
-fish soy sauce

How to make?
1. boil a water (chicken broth)
2. put a chicken inside until it tender, rinse, take out bones and chop chicken meat until small pieces
3. chop and boil asparagus separated about 3-5 minutes,make sure that it's not overcooked!!
3. cut all the mushroom into small pieces and put it all in water
4. put a carrot and asparagus
5. add fish soy sauce,black soy sauce,pepper and salt
6. put wheat flour until thick enough
7. put white eggs (for half chicken, you only need 1 eggs)

Back to work?

I've got a nice job offer in one of company that I've been dreaming off to work there when I'm still single, one of my ex-client from that company contact me last week and asked my resume,the next day they're calling for an interview, I thought..not bad to give it shot, after all maybe I'm not the one they're searching for.

After lots of IQ test,4 interviews phase (HRD-USER-MANAGING DIRECTOR-HRD) they're offer me a position that I've been dreaming off, a good facilities and nice digit of salary (very nice), after discuss it with jaya, I've decided to put down that offer, I can't go back to work at this moment... and the only reason why I can't take that offer is because of my precious son, he needs my full attention and affection even I have "suster" to help me around still I can't go to work while half of my heart thinking about bryan all day long, it's part of myself commitment after marriage.... to raise and educate my son first, let say if I'm selfish and take that offer, bryan will raise and educate by his nanny,which for sure is far from my expectation. I've seen and heard lots story about kids who cry looking for their nanny when their nanny go back to their village and the mother can't stop their kids from crying, nanny who abandon kids while they busy to chit chat on phone,nanny who torture kids or lots more! I want Bryan have special bonding with me, knowing that I'll always be there for him no matter what happens and he always comes first in everything that I do.

so I better not take that job, even that offer is very tempting and hard to refuse but I won't regret it bryan is more important than anything for me now. to witness his first mumble,his first word,his first step is my greatest achievement beside who say that become a full time mother is not a job? it's the greatest job I've ever done!!

since nanny not around, the baby always stick around with mummy

Happy 63 years of independence and as a tradition we're celebrate it with games,bazaar,show,etc in our house complex, yesterday there's games about searching pictures in our neighbor, a group of family members must search where's the place of picture is taken and take a picture of it use digital camera as a proof that we found that place, for example : they took picture of electric power with specific number and we must search where it is,take a picture of it by foot! our complex is quite big so its very tiring yet fun, I didn't join it,Bryan nanny is take a day leave since last Thursday until sunday,but I take bryan with his stroller for a ride around complex to support his daddy,yeye,and kuku.oh..and also enjoy free breakfast porridge ;)

this morning,I took bryan to bazaar and see bike decoration competition, there's a barney and mickey clown,come surprise..he's not affraid at all!! no crying or wailing even when the barney hold him!! he seem fine with it! wow! he's just like me, when I was a little girl, I also not afraid with clowns and it consider rare since clowns in my time is bit creepy.

Calling for help

He's always doing this when he need my help to hold him,get him to sit position or give him something that he wants but when he's in happy mood,he never say mama..he will say papapapapa and mumbling some other words. even though it's very tiring sometimes cause he can wailing so many times in short time but I'm still enjoy it so much,to hear my son calling me for help,it was my joy and pride as his mother and this is the moment that i'll treasure forever cause maybe in next few years he will busy with his own life and my presence will not become so important like today.

Meeting Jack

Today,I took Bryan to his amah for get some massage (before and when i was pregnant with bryan,I've regularly visited ai ichen for massage every twice a week,so when bryan was born, ai ichen treat bryan like her own grandson,that's why bryan call her amah which mean "grandma") and jack (amah grandson) is there too.. jack is nearly 1 year next september, bryan is very-very happy to meet jack, he's keep laugh and smiling while jack is bit unwell, he's easily cry or become jealous when amah hold bryan. if you wonder why Jack looks like causcasian,it was because his father is Australia, while Jack mom (ai daughter) is Chinese.

Bryan really loves ride his stroller, he's been moving backward, going circle and right-left with his stroller which makes me EXTRA careful to watch him around, I'm afraid that he's bump into something or even grab anything that potential dangerous for him for example : he loves bump his stroller to table, so i must make sure that the table is in "all clear" status. :)
